this hare's mask fur is kind of short... not sure able to stack properly using the hair stacker...
Well done Troutbum. Good job. Fish will definitely makan. What dron suggest is also correct and so is your style. If you want to substitute the tail with different material, you can use pheasant tail and heckle. To make nicer and neater, apply a little dubbing but not too much ah. also you can reduce a little bit of the tail and the body, but can make the thorax fluffy like in the sample dron showed. Keep on tying you will achieve perfection soon. don't worry what people say. Cheers Pak Amin

bro FT,
i tried to tie the fire udang...got the steps but the last part is a bit difficult for me...how do you make the contour of the prawn body with the epoxy? use finger ka? and do you need to let the epoxy harderned a bit before putting on the flies?...

Found this juvenile ladyfish hole... Did my studies, they seem to feed on finger size prawns which you can see jumping around. Caught 2 babies yesterday, the strikes was amazing!
Also, saw some biggies but they tend to stay in the middle of the pond.. brainstorming for a way to lure them into casting distance.
Tied some bonefish flies and prawny patterns for it and gonna try it again later in the evening.
Any other suggestions?

Bro TarponMike,
Alpocot is right, light setup is more fun when dealing with the babies...u caught the wild ladies right...from my experiance (in temelok) the biggies normally will play in the middle of ponds or straits...but some will hide under shades of trees...if ur spot got trees...try to cast into the shades of trees.

ikan bulan, the epoxy part is quite simple. put a blob of epoxy on the back of the prawn, then turn upside down. maneauvre it back n forth so it spreads eaually from head to tail. let the epoxy 'hang' from the back of the prawn, rotating it back n forth till the epoxy sets in. that's my unconventional way of doing things. hahhahah
ben, nice prawn there, looks really yummy!
today at kakilai, pak teh evergreen and i managed to entice the siakaps into biting(rained last night, water was cold, fish hyper-inactive mood). i met another fellow forummer from the BM section(can't remember his name, sorry bro!), soon we were introduced and he showed me his flies...he said he tried the prawns based on the pics i posted, and i can tell u he made tastier prawns than mine! well done bro! keep up the good job
